Bob MacIntyre isn’t in contention to win the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year as he is ineligible. Despite playing his first full PGA Tour season and having two wins, MacIntyre hasn’t been nominated for the award. The players who have been nominated are Nick Dunlap, Jake Knapp, Michael Thorbjornsen, Matthieu Pavon, and Alejandro Tosti.

As per PGA Tour rules, if a player has played in more than seven events in a season, he ceases to be a rookie from the next season. In the 2020-2021 season, Bob MacIntyre played in 13 events on the Tour. He made 11 cuts and had two top-10 finishes, and four top-25 finishes. He made $655,329 in the season.

In the 2021-2022 season, Bob MacIntyre played in 8 events on the Tour. He made six cuts and had two top-25 finishes. He earned $461,631 for the performances that season. Overall, he has played 54 events on the Tour including 25 this year.

The 28-year-old recently took to Instagram to reflect on his season. He captioned his post:

“First @pgatour season in the books. It’s not all been glamorous, in fact far from it but that made the two wins in Canada and the Scottish Open all the more special. I’ve learnt so much about myself the last 8 months and feel a far improved player with lots to look forward to next year.”
He’ll next head to the DP World Tour’s Amgen Irish Open at Royal County Down from September 12 to 15. He wrote:

“Before then we have some big events on the @dpworldtour Thanks for your support.”
