5 golfers to watch at the 2024 Presidents Cup
Each Presidents Cup team is made up of 12 players, six ranked by a points system and the other six chosen by captains Jim Furyk (USA) and Mike Weir (International).

These are the main players:

1- Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler will play in the 2024 Presidents Cup as a culmination of one of the best seasons in PGA Tour history. Scheffler comes in after winning seven tournaments, the first time that has happened on the circuit since Tiger Woods in 2007.

Scheffler’s victories include the Masters, the Players Championship and the TOUR Championship. As if that were not enough, he also won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

2- Xander Schauffele
Xander Schauffele also comes to the Royal Montreal Golf Club on the back of the best season of his career. The year was highlighted by his two Major titles, the PGA Championship and the Open Championship.

Schauffele also had 13 other top-10 finishes during the season, including three runner-up finishes. Notably, he finished in the top 5 in each of the three FedEx Cup playoff events.

3- Collin Morikawa
Collin Morikawa played in 21 events during the 2024 PGA Tour season, posting eight Top 10s, including two runner-up finishes (the Memorial Tournament and the TOUR Championship). He finished in the top 25 at all four Major championships, including two top 10s.

This will be Morikawa’s second appearance in the Presidents Cup. In his previous one (2022), he earned two points in three matches, with two wins and one loss.

4- Hideki Matsuyama
Hideki Matsuyama had another great season in 2024, with two wins in two high-profile events, the Genesis Invitational and the FedEx St. Jude Championship. He had five other top-10 finishes and won the bronze medal at the Olympics.

His health may be a concern as he withdrew from the BMW Championship, the second event in the playoffs, due to injury. A week later, however, he was able to play in the TOUR Championship and finished in the top 10.

5- Sungjae Im
Sungjae Im played 25 tournaments in the 2024 PGA Tour season and finished in the top 10 eight times, including a tie for 7th at the Open Championship. He also finished 7th at the TOUR Championship.

This will be his third appearance in the Presidents Cup. His record includes six points in 10 matches, with five wins, two ties and three losses.
