Greg Norman calls 2025 LIV Golf’s “most ambitious season start to date”, releasing statement post schedule reveal

LIV Golf unveiled the first part of its schedule for the 2025 season on Wednesday, September 4. These are the first four tournaments of a year that, according to the league’s CEO, Greg Norman, will be the “most ambitious” of any that have been held to date.

The four events will take place in Riyadh, Adelaide, Hong Kong and Singapore between February and March 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a press release issued by Norman through the league’s news service:

“As we set our sights on 2025, LIV Golf is gearing up for our most ambitious season start, to date,” Norman said. “Since our debut in 2022, LIV Golf has played 34 tournaments in nine different countries across four continents.”

The first four tournaments of the 2025 LIV Golf season will coincide with four PGA Tour events. The first of these (Riyadh) will take place from February 6-8 when the WM Phoenix Open is held in Arizona.

A week later, LIV Golf will travel to Adelaide, while the PGA Tour will play the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, hosted by Tiger Woods.

In March, the Hong Kong event will be held in conjunction with the Arnold Palmer Invitational, while the Singapore event will be held in conjunction with the Players Championship.

LIV Golf as a global tour
Since its inception, one of LIV Golf’s goals has been to establish itself as a global tour. In its first three seasons, it has reached nine countries and 22 locations.

These are the locations and countries that have hosted LIV events at least once:

London, UK
Portland, USA
Bedminster, USA
Boston, USA
Chicago, USA
Bangkok, Thailand
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Miami, USA
Mayakoba, Mexico
Tucson, USA
Adelaide, Australia
Sentosa, Singapore
Tulsa, USA
Andalucia, Spain
Greenbrier, USA

Las Vegas, USA
Hong Kong, China
Houston, USA
Nashville, USA
Dallas, USA
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be added to the above list as a new destination on the circuit’s schedule beginning with the 2025 season.

By comparison, the PGA Tour anticipates an international schedule for the 2025 season that is virtually unchanged from the past three seasons. It will play six regular schedule tournaments outside the United States, including the Open Championship:

Mexico Open at Vidanta, Mexico
Puerto Rico Open, Puerto Rico
Corales Puntacana Championship, Domican Republic
RBC Canadian Open, Canada
Genesis Scottish Open, Scotland
The Open Championship, Northern Ireland
In addition, the PGA Tour includes two events outside the United States that correspond to the so-called “FedEx Cup Fall”. They are:

ZOZO Championship, Japan
World Wide Techbollogy Championship, Mexico
The 2025 PGA Tour season will begin with The Sentry on January 2 and conclude with the TOUR Championship on August 24.
