Aman has given the internet an insight into the most exciting part of his job as a postal service employee.
Racking up 188,000 views, TikTok user @dantefreak shared a video of himself looking up at the text on the screen that says: “being a postie must be so boring. What do you even look forward to?”
He then shakes his head and reveals the perks of the job—seeing all of the cats while delivering mail.
So far, the video, captioned: “not as boring as it seems,” has racked up 27,000 likes.

However, not every mail carrier who comes across people’s pets has a good experience with them. In 2023, more than 5,300 Postal Service employees were attacked by dogs while delivering the mail, according to the United States Postal Service statistics.
Felines may also be problematic for those delivering our mail, thanks to playful behavior, territorial instincts, fear of strangers, boredom, negative past experiences, or underlying medical conditions.
To prevent attacks, owners should determine the specific reason behind the behavior, keep the cat indoors, use desensitization techniques, provide adequate enrichment, and consult a vet if necessary. This approach helps address the root cause and modify the cat’s behavior accordingly.
The video, shared on April, 17, has already received over 240 comments.
One user asked: “So you’re saying my dream job is a postie?”
“I’d be a terrible postie, get distracted by all the cats and be too scared of all the dogs,” said another.
A third commenter said: “If i saw a postman petting the local cats on their rounds i’d be filled with joy.”
“Being a postie has genuinely always been a dream job of mine. This just solidifies it!” said a fourth user.
It seems the pros definitely outweigh the cons when it comes to this job as Newsweek has shared a number of stories highlighting the special bond between postal workers and pets.
One mailman has been praised online for sewing bandanas for neighborhood dogs, and the way a golden retriever greets another worker has also delighted many.
Another article even reduced the internet to tears as an owner showcased the special bond formed between their dog and the mailman. They developed a strong friendship that lasted for 16 years; the two are now referred to as “best friends” online.
